Safety Guidelines

Most g3t hangouts are small and relaxed. These simple steps can help you feel prepared and comfortable.

Before the hangout

  • Check the location, time, cost, activity level and expected weather.
  • Tell the host early about accessibility needs or serious allergies.
  • For a community-hosted hangout, choose a public, easy-to-reach place when meeting people for the first time.
  • Let someone you trust know where you’re going.
  • Plan how you will get home before heading out.

During the hangout

  • Trust your instincts. You can say no, change seats, step outside or leave at any time.
  • There is no pressure to drink, stay late, continue to another place, share contact details or accept a ride.
  • Share personal details at your own pace. You do not need to share your address, workplace, phone number or social accounts.
  • Keep your drink, phone and belongings with you.
  • Do not send or lend money or share financial details.
  • Check food allergies directly with the venue rather than relying only on the menu.
  • During walks, runs or sports, stay within your ability and help keep the group together.
  • If you feel uncomfortable, tell the host, venue staff or someone you trust.

After the hangout

  • You do not have to continue chatting or meet someone again.
  • Email kevin@g3t.club if something made you or another person feel uncomfortable.
  • Save relevant messages or details if you may need to explain what happened.
  • You can privately ask g3t not to place you with someone again.

If someone is in immediate danger or seriously unwell, contact local emergency services first and then inform g3t. In France, you can call 112 for Emergencies and 17 for Police.
Your safety and comfort come before being polite.
